Intimacy Works: Relating and loving skills for couples and individuals

More about me (Bob)

I had a very different previous "life" before joining Priya and moving to the UK.  If you think you know me from that other time (from which I'm now retired), this may help identify me:

For more than 30 years I was involved in the design, planning, installation, and operation of complex "production communication" ("comms") systems for large-scale live entertainment and television events, as well as television broadcast facilities.

My television production credits include the Academy Awards, American Music Awards, Grammy Awards, the People’s Choice Awards and the Miss America Pageant.  Also several US Presidential Inaugurations, four Olympics Opening & Closing Ceremonies (Los Angeles-1984, Barcelona-1992, Atlanta-1996, Athens-2004), as well as the Super Bowl entertainment for eight years and several music videos.

I have authored articles on production communications for Broadcast Engineering, TV Technology, Sound & Video Contractor, Millimeter, Theater Crafts, and other professional society publications, and have presented papers, conducted seminars, participated in and organized technical sessions for the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE), Audio Engineering Society (AES), Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), and the United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT).

I was head of Applications Engineering and Training for Clear-Com Intercom Systems, the Sales Manager of RTS Communications Systems, Engineering Manager of both Best Audio and Filmways Audio Services.

I also worked with entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Paul Anka, the Fifth Dimension and the Carpenters.  I started my career in "Off Broadway" theater in New York City (actually starting in lighting), eventually heading up the Sound Department of the New York Shakespeare Festival for seven years, which included doing the sound for the original production of Hair.
